Payment Options

At The Avian Medical Center, we deliver the finest and most comprehensive avian veterinary care.  We are proud to be the only avian exclusive veterinary clinic in Oregon.   In order to keep our costs as reasonable as possible, we require payment in full at time of service,  and reserve the right to require a deposit of up to the full estimated treatment costs prior to treatment beginning.

Because we know our clients have a variety of needs and special circumstances, we offer a number of ways to pay for your pet's veterinary care. We gladly accept cash, checks, debit cards, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, money orders, and cashier's or traveler's checks.

Insurance
If your bird is insured, please provide the name of the insurance company to us so it is in our records.  You are responsible for payment to The Avian Medical Center, and the insurance company should reimburse you as per your policy.

Outpatient care
Outpatient care is the care that is entirely completed on the day of your bird's visit. Our payment policy requires payment in full at the time of completion of care. Payment options include cash, checks, debit cards, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, money orders, and cashier's or traveler's checks.

Inpatient care
If your animal is hospitalized, please be sure to request an estimate of the approximate cost of services, procedures, tests, drugs and supplies needed to treat your animal. This estimate will reflect only the initial diagnostic and treatment plan, and may change, based on your treatment decisions.  Upon request, we can update your estimate daily.   Treatment of your animal is determined by your decisions, with consideration of your own financial resources. You have the right to decline any or all treatment suggested for your birds.   Always feel free to call and ask for updates.

Payment in full must be made at the time your animal is discharged. Due to the nature of our small practice, we are not able to offer payment plans.

If you have an outstanding bill, we cannot provide any additional services until the past-due balance is paid in full.

We will work with you to offer treatment options that take cost into consideration. We value you and your birds and want to continue our relationship with you.  We know that discussing finances can be difficult, but be assured we are open to talking with you.

If you should find a mistake on your account, please notify us of the discrepancy. Often times the mistake can be cleared up on the phone and our embarrassment usually exceeds your dissatisfaction.
