Love birds and people?

Are you an excellent communicator?    Do you LOVE learning?   Have a strong interest in compassionately helping both people and birds?   The Avian Medical Center is always accepting cover letters and resumes!

We love to work with calm and friendly team players that show a strong commitment to learning, , professionalism, creative problem solving and of course the highest level of avian veterinary care.

A dedication of service to others, both people and animals, is something every team member has in common here.

Attention to detail is vital to all aspects of working with birds because everything from body language to signs of illness can be very subtle.

If you are interested in working as part of our dynamic team, we are always accepting cover letters and resumes!

Don't quite feel ready to apply?  If you'd like to gain some experience with birds, give us a call.  There are a variety of places that offer training and volunteer opportunities, including the Oregon Zoo, Portland Audubon, The Oregon Humane Society, The American Federation of Aviculture and local/national bird rescues.  If you are really interested in hands-on experience with a wide variety of parrot species, check out Natural Encounters, Inc. as they offer online and live classes, internships, etc.    Cornell also offers online bird/aviculture classes.
